moving image enthusiast

After blogging and watching a ton of movies, I can say that I am a movie addict.
WAIT. Is that the right term? Movie addict?

This made me think. What is the right term for someone who just loves watching movies; may it be sci-fi, horror, drama, comedy, or a chick flick.

After searching for hours on the perfect term for someone who loves popping some popcorn and gluing their eyes on the big screen for that wonderfully made (and beautifully crafted) films of their favorite (and sometimes not so favorite) movie stars, I gave up and looked for a movie guide on the next movies to die for! Ha-ha… just kiddin’!

I came upon a site which offered an answer to my fairly unanswered question. Here is a list of what readers think of the answer is and my comments.

“Film buff” – This term can pass as “okay”; but, not as perfect as the others may be. Film- of course, the movie. Buff? Someone who goes to the gym frequently? After some thought, I consulted a thesaurus and looked for synonyms for this word. Buff! A fan, enthusiast, admirer, expert, connoisseur or aficionado. This term passes!

“Movie Junkie”- why would I put myself as a “junk”? The term portrays a bad image. Bad image is not good. Ha-ha.

“Movie Maniac” – Hmmm… creative but still lacks something.

“Movieholic” – hmmm… this term is quite nice! It’s a term for a “movie lover”. NICE! (like an alcoholic! Ha-ha)

“Film fanatic” – for me, this is so-so.

“Movie critic” – I am not that serious on criticizing a movie! (Well, sometimes!)

“Movie buff” – well, same as the “film buff”

“Filmophile” – I don’t quite get this. What is this?

Apparently, there is a correct term for a movie lover like me! It is a “moving image enthusiast”. Well, it sounds intellectual but fun at the same time!

So, for “moving image enthusiasts” out there like me, keep watching those movies of your favorite celebrities! (And avoid piracy, okay?)

mothers beware!

Mothers beware. Your husband might be into your very young babysitter!

Babysitting can be tiresome sometimes but if you are earning tons of money from it, then what the heck!

Shirley Lyner (played by Katherine Waterston) is a typical high school teenager who wants to earn a few more bucks to be able to send herself to college. She wants to keep everything in order, just like every other teenage girl who wants everything in place.

Michael Beltran, on the other hand, is a worn-out father of two young kids and is now unhappy with the career path he’s taking. Clearly, his life lacks the exhilaration everyone craves for every single day.

As the story goes, Shirley babysits Michael’s two children. After a day of doing her job, Shirley gets a ride home from his boss, Michael. But, things had gone terribly wrong when Michael and Shirley share a kiss. This gives them the go signal to go crazy over the situation. This also led for Michael to overpay her to “compensate” for what he did.

One thing led to another. In no time, Shirley’s friends are also “babysitting” for other middle-aged men. This situation soon led to problems regarding greed, jealousy, and envy. Shirley’s and Michael’s world began to be ransacked with problems and difficult situations.

This movie promises a bundle of laughs, overly sexy scenes, and much more! A definite must see!

the point of deception

Who would have thought that going into a sex club would put you into sooooo much trouble! Hotties Hugh Jackman and Ewan McGregor grace the big screen in this sexy and sultry thriller movie.

Basically, the story goes when an outgoing lawyer, Wyatt Bose (played by Hugh Jackman) introduces an underground sex club known as “The List” to his newly found friend in the person of a lonely audito0r, Jonathan McQuarry (played by Ewan McGregor). Problem strikes when the woman Jonathan is seeing suddenly disappears without a trace. Plus, to top that, he was also included in a heist.

The character played by Ewan McGregor is subtle than him in millions of ways. First off, he plays an insecure and unsociable guy which is in total contrast to characters he had played in the past. (Insert here his Moulin Rouge character). Jonathan is said to be doomed, ready to be swallowed by work and life.

On the other hand, Hugh Jackman’s character Attorney Wyatt Bose, is the very aggressive type. (I can say that this is perfect for this hunky guy!) His aggressiveness as Wolverine is subtly shown in his character. Wyatt is oozing with self-confidence and charm. Every man wants to be like him.

Their friendship bloomed one day between drug smokes. Wyatt introduced Jonathan to the very exclusive The List where he met “S” (played by Michelle Williams). This is where the confusion and thriller scenes start.

With a certified talented cast, Deception is a must see!

baby maker!

Graded as B- by critics, Baby Mama is one hilarious movie!

Baby Mama stars two of the best sitcom comediennes in the television industry. And now, their hilarious antics and over-the-top acting brings them together in this funny movie.

Kate (played by Tina Fey) is a successful 37 year old single woman. She is independent. She is career driven. She has a successful life. That’s all a woman can ask for, right? Wrong.

Kate’s success cannot compensate her loneliness. To be able to overcome this isolation she plans to have a baby of her own. But, she did not want to give up her successful career so she employs a substitute mother (played by Amy Poehler) who will bear the child for her. The thing is, the one Kate hired is so “slap-happy” and overly-aggressive that this became the worst and the best time of her life.

Critics grade this movie as B- because of its ala sitcom setting and downright flat jokes. But, the superb acting of the two comediennes gave this new movie a boost to stardom.

This movie mixes an extraordinary dose of clumsiness and female jokes and cleverness.

Directed and written by Michael McCullers, the movie is comparable to a dumb blonde. But nevertheless, their funny antics and hilarious comments will leave you laughing so hard on the floor.

This movie is one of the few which are in fact genuinely humorous and witty.
